Nov. 14 – Ohio Valley Creative Energy presentation by Lori Beck
The date of the November AICHE event for the Louisville Chapter has been changed after reasonable consideration. Instead of November seventh, the date is going to be November 14th. The change is driven to avoid scheduling conflicts with the 2007 Annual AICHE Meeting. While a certain amount of disruption is expected as a result of this change, the seasoned leaders of the local AICHE chapter see the importance of having the U of L students be a part of this event, especially when it is being held on U of L property! (viz. Cressman Center). Nothing else will change. (Yes, you will have to re-RSVP.) So far there have been enthusiastic responses to this event, and we hope AICHE members can be flexible to change the date one week ahead. In summary then: Ohio Valley Creative Energy presentation by Lori Beck, Executive Director6pm on November 14thCressman Center, Univ of Louisville, 100 E Main Street, LouisvilleFood and drink will be available for purchase after the presentation—either on-site or within 2 blocks at Bearno’s.
The formal presentation will include updates on the development of sustainable energy from off-gassing from an Indiana land-fill. Lori Beck, Executive Director of Ohio Valley Creative Energy (OVCE) will coordinate the presentation in appropriate detail. The location of the event will most likely be The Cressman Center for Visual Arts, a satellite of the U of L, located at 100 E. Main Street, Louisville. This venue, alone, is worth an outing and discussion, notwithstanding Lori’s excellent presentation skills. (http://louisville.edu/a-s/finearts/cressman_center.html) Explore OVCE on your own as you may wish (www.ohiovalleycreativenergy.org) so as to bring questions and insights as befits your musings. This promises to be an engaging event, and will represent a convergence of energy, artistry, environmental science, architectural design, public policy, education, etc. Come out to this memorable occasion!RSVP as soon as you are able. FUTURE EVENTS: A trip to and tour of Huber’s winery will most probably be held one day in the first or second weekend in December. This is a fun event—technical, “chemical” (wink), and bucolic. Their wines make good Holiday presents—goes without saying… Stay tuned for further reports on plans.
